Environmental Advisor - Dredging

The primary function of this position is to provide onsite environmental advice for managing Dredging activities for the construction phases of the company’s Gas Field Development Project.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assist the Senior Environmental Advisor-Dredging in the preparation and review of Contractor and Company Environmental Management Plans and/or procedures related to Dredging activities to obtain secondary environmental approval under NT legislation.
  • Liaise with members of the Dredge Expert Panel, NRETAS, and/or DSEWPAC representatives on Dredging related matters.
  • Become Dredge Spoil Disposal Management Plan subject matter expert and provide specialist dredging support as required for environmental compliance during Project execution.
  • Conduct regular vessel inspections to assess contractor compliance against environmental & quarantine commitments, and participate in internal and external audits.
  • Provide timely advice to Dredge Contractors on their obligations under the DSDMP; Company Management Plans (e.g. Cetacean Management, Heritage Management, Oil Spill Response Contingency Plan etc); and Contractor Management Plans.
  • Identify practical solutions to any potential constraints with implementing environmental & quarantine commitments in the field.
  • Regularly engage Contractor workforce by:
    • Attending regular Contractor pre-starts, meetings, and toolboxes.
    • Developing and delivering environmental & quarantine toolbox presentations.
    • Encouraging good environmental performance by Contractor workforce.
    • Recognizing and rewarding environmental best practice.
    • Regularly visit vessels to discuss Contractor environmental obligations with crew members and obtain feedback on marine fauna sightings.
  • Actively participate in environmental and quarantine incident management processes. This may include, but is not limited to:
    • reporting all stranded, injured or dead marine fauna to Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging.
    • undertaking incident investigations, identifying root causes, and reviewing corrective actions in consultation with Contractor.
    • closing corrective actions within agreed timeframes.
  • Review, Assess, and Approve Contractor chemical applications using Chem Alert prior to Dredge Contractor mobilizing to site.
  • Provide support to Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging with reviewing marine far-field, mid-field and near-field monitoring results for any exceedances of pre-agreed environmental thresholds and communicate Company expectations to Dredge Contractor.
  • Provide dredge activity updates to the Public Affairs team as part of the communication strategy to inform the Darwin community.
  • Provide timely Environmental advice to the Dredge Package Manager and Technical Engineer on an as needs basis.
  • Provide other environmental support as requested by the Senior Environmental Advisor - Dredging, or the Environmental Manager.

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • Bachelor degree in marine science or environmental management (essential).
  • Higher level degree (desirable).
  • Preparation of environmental management plans.
  • Implementation of Environmental commitments.
  • Contractor engagement & contractor management.
  • Sound understanding of tropical marine environment.
  • Sound understanding of dredging and vessel capabilities (desirable).
  • Minimum 3 years project experience in Environmental Management in resources industry.

Flowlines and Tie-In Engineer

The Umbilical, Risers and Flowline (URF) team requires a Flowlines and Tie-In Engineer.  Reporting to the Senior Flowlines and Tie-In Engineer, this newly created role will be responsible for providing support to the URF Group for flowlines and tie-ins during the execution phase. This will include responsibility for conduct of a correct and complete flowlines and tie-in scope within the URF EPCI Contract and Linepipe (Flowlines) POs.

 

Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

 

·         Represent URF Group on technical flowlines issues at both internal and external meetings.

·         Review and comment on internal project documentation and external consultant / contractor project documentation.

·         Monitor all facets of flowlines work to ensure that project schedule, budget and technical requirements have, as a minimum, been met or improved upon.

·         Assist in the management of procurement contracts for the linepipe.

·         Technical authority, where delegated from Senior Flowlines and Tie-in Engineer for all aspects of infield subsea flowline / FLET / tie-in design, manufacture, fabrication.

·         Support installation, pre-commissioning and operation activities.

·         Lead / participate in Design Review, HAZID / ENVID, Constructability Review workshops etc.

·         Resolve infield subsea flowline related interface issues and technical queries.

·         Provide technical leadership for all aspects of infield subsea flowline / FLET / tie-in design, manufacture, fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning and operation activities.

·         Anticipate, identify and assist to resolution of detailed technical issues for infield subsea flowlines and tie-ins in an efficient and cost effective manner.

·         Define, monitor and manage work tasks with external consultants / contractors as required.

 

This role would suit a tertiary qualified engineer with extensive experience in the design, fabrication and installation of subsea flowlines. Previous experience working in a client team on EPCI/EPCM contracts with relevant internationally recognized design codes and standards will be highly regarded. This successful applicant will need to be highly motivated and be able to demonstrated outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. They will also need to be a team player who has the ability to work with different disciplines and cultures.

 

This is a Perth based role but will likely be required to travel both domestically and overseas.

Environmental Approvals Coordinator

The primary function of this position is to coordinate the timely delivery of environmental approvals for the Project and to manage the processes for assuring that environmental approval commitments, conditions and secondary legislative environmental approval requirements are implemented.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Act as Interface Coordinator for Commonwealth and Northern Territory environmental regulator communications on environmental matters.
  • Maintain close relationships with Government Approvals and External Affairs teams for coordination of environmental approvals and stakeholder engagement processes.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed execution strategy for all secondary (construction and operation phase) environmental approvals.
  • Coordinate the Project Dredging Expert Panel.
  • In association with planners and line Environmental Advisers, develop and maintain detailed schedules for the delivery for all secondary (construction and operation phase) environmental approvals.
  • In consultation with the HSE Assurance Team and environmental line advisers ensure the cascade of environmental obligations to Project personnel and to EPC Contractors.
  • Provide support to the HSE Assurance Team for the development and maintenance of assurance processes to track compliance with environmental obligations.
  • Provide expert advice on Australian environmental approval legislation and seek legal advice where clarity is required.
  • Develop strategies, schedules, resourcing, budgets and execution plans as required, should any additional environmental approvals be required for the Project.
  • Manage and supervise the work of the Environmental Approvals Adviser, Technical Editor and Team Technical Assistant.

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • BSc. in environmental discipline (minimum).
  • Minimum 15 years working in environmental discipline.
  • Past experience in gaining environmental approvals for a major oil and gas developments (preferably within Australia).
  • Experience in implementation of a major construction project (preferably within Australia).
  • Detailed knowledge of Australian environmental approval legislation.

Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer

The primary objective of this position is to supervise and approve design and selection of rotating equipment during the EPC phase of the project.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Preparation of equipment datasheets, specifications and requisitions for onshore LNG plant (incl. compressors, expanders, turbines, power generation equipment).
  • Supervise and approve design and selection of pumps for the main processes and utilities of onshore LNG plant, preparation of pump datasheets, specifications and requisitions.
  • Responsible for the technical bid evaluation, technical clarifications, inspections during fabrication, performance testing at vendor location, supervision of site installation, testing and commissioning of rotating equipment related to onshore LNG facilities.
  • Review and comment of Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner including coordination of discipline comments.
  • Work alongside other Rotating Equipment discipline engineers within the Onshore LNG Project team.
  • Under the direction of the Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer deliver a design that meets the requirements of the project in safety, reliability, operability and maintainability throughout its plant service life.
  • Ensure Onshore LNG Facilities rotating equipment design minimizes the impact on the environment in line with project requirements.
  • Have detailed understanding and knowledge of large rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, expanders, turbines etc) for onshore LNG Facilities.
  • Support/advise the project team and Contractors on rotating equipment selection and design during detailed engineering, construction, hookup and commissioning of the Onshore LNG Plant to meet project requirements.
  • Have understanding of the design aspects of other engineering disciplines including process, electrical, static, instrumentation, modularization, safety etc.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
  • Act as a technical authority to ensure that project specifications are complied with and deviations are substantiated in line with project procedures.
  • Organise, manage and control Third Party support studies as required.
  • Participate in Design and Operability Reviews and Design Audits.
  • Represent company at technical meetings in vendor works (K.O. meetings, design reviews etc.).
  • Conduct Inspection and Factory Acceptance Tests of rotating equipment on behalf of the company.
  • Risk Assessment.
  • Assist in identifying project risks and implement agreed mitigation measures as required.
  • Contractor Management.
  • Direct/advise the EPC Contractor on all aspects of design, construction, installation and hookup and commissioning of rotating equipment for Onshore LNG Facilities to meet project requirements.
  • Control the detailed engineering performed by the EPC Contractor related to rotating equipment design and selection.
  • Ensure project deliverables and activities associated with the Onshore LNG facilities rotating equipment design are achieved in accordance with project milestone dates, budget and technical requirements of BOD.
  • Support/advise the project team and the EPC Contractor on resolution of engineering queries and request for waivers.
  • Support QA/QC Project staff and interfaces with EPC Contractor personnel.
  • Monitor/review and report progress of the work in a timely manner.
  • Organise regular progress/technical meetings with Contractor.
  • Review and comment of Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner.
  • Ensure operations and maintenance requirements are incorporated in the design.
  • Liaise with JV Partner to seek design alignment.
  • Discuss/agree JV Partner involvement in discipline technical design reviews as required.

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • Degree/Post Graduate qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Affiliation and membership with recognized professional bodies is desirable.
  • Minimum 15 years demonstrated experience in engineering, equipment selection, procurement, pre-commissioning of rotating equipment for large LNG/onshore gas processing facilities.
  • Experience in design and selection of rotating equipment for cryogenic service.
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in provision of fabrication, construction of onshore LNG projects.
  • High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, pre-commissioning, installation and hookup and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with Australian and International Codes and Standards.
  • Familiarity with Australian suppliers and previous working experience in the Australia projects is preferable.
  • Familiarity with the dynamic analysis methodology for the control and stability of large size rotating equipment, specifically compressors.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Excellent written skills in English.
  • Highly organized, self motivated results orientated person.

Flexibles and Umbilicals Engineer

·         Ensure engineering and design of riser systems to applicable codes and standards.

·         Ensure manufacture of flexibles and umbilicals to applicable codes, standards and quality requirements.

·         Participate in Design Review, HAZID / ENVID, Constructability Review workshops etc.

·         Assist Senior Flexibles / Umbilicals Engineers to resolve riser systems, flexibles and umbilicals related interface issues and technical queries.

·         Proven track record holding similar position within other projects for the design, manufacture or installation of flexible and/or umbilical riser systems and their components.

·         Previous experience working in client team on EPCI / EPCM contracts and working with relevant internationally recognized design codes / standards.

·         Experience interacting with subsea, process, materials and operations disciplines.

·         High awareness of safe working practices on offshore construction projects.

·         Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Valves, Connectors and Piping Engineer

The primary objective of this position is to provide support to the Umbilicals Risers and Flowlines (URF) Group for all valves, connectors and piping throughout the execution phase.  Act as technical authority within URF Package for valves, connectors and piping and assume responsibility towards Structures & RSS Package Engineer for implementation of a correct and complete scope in compliance with the URF EPCI Contract requirements.  Liaise and interface with the Materials and Welding Engineer for the validation of qualification scopes / schedules for valves, connectors and piping and approval of test input parameters and procedures.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Represent the URF Group in relation to technical issues surrounding valves, connectors and piping in conjunction with other senior discipline engineers, at both internal and external meetings.

  • 10 years + experience specifically in subsea valves design, manufacturing, testing and installation for the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Proven track record holding similar position within other projects for the design, manufacturing, testing and installation of subsea valves and connectors / piping.
  • Subsea valve selection (ball/gate), design, materials and specification including ROV and hydraulic actuators for high pressure and temperature service.
  • Interacting with subsea, process, materials and operations disciplines.
  • Familiarity with diverless subsea connection systems including selection, design, manufacture testing and ROV tooling.

Senior Structural Engineer

Senior Geophysicist

Working for the operator of a multi-billion dollar LNG project the primary objective of this position is to undertake petroleum exploration activities as a geophysical member of the Exploration team, developing the Company's exploration portfolio, and providing geophysical support for seismic operations and related drilling projects.

 

Key responsibilities of this position includes:

  • An up-to-date appreciation of the latest geophysical and geological techniques, with a high level of skill in geophysical interpretation, interpretation and mapping software, reporting and data recording systems.
  • Geophysical interpretation and evaluation with a focus on the generation and development of exploration plays, leads and prospects for drilling.
  • Preparation of predrill/postdrill geophysical documentation and data analysis; provision of support and monitoring of geophysical aspects during seismic and drilling operations.
  • Evaluate potential new venture opportunities as required: attend data reviews, provide reports, analyses and advice to the Exploration Manager.
  • Support and input as required into new acquisition and reprocessing projects.
  • Attend Operated and non-operated Joint Venture meetings as required, with report and advice the Manager of Geophysics and/or Exploration Manager.
  • Contribute to the creation and peer reviewing of initiatives and projects underway in the Exploration team.
  • Plan, lead and supervise geophysical studies by external contractors.
  • Prepare geophysical documents and reports.
  • Compile presentations and contribute to discussions with the Government and Joint Ventures.
  • Preparation of technical submissions and applications, to Company management, to the Joint Ventures and to the Joint Authority.
  • Provide advice and assistance on to the Manager Geophysics and/or Exploration Manager on regional strategy, permit strategy and permit management matters.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the structure and systems within, and the ethos of, the Exploration team.
  • Provide mentoring of junior geophysicists and other staff.
  • Assist the Manager Geophysics and Exploration Manager in designing implementing and managing budgets and work programs for each project.

 

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • Bachelor of Science (Geophysics) or similar related geoscience degree.
  • At least 12 - 15 years in the petroleum exploration industry.
  • Expertise in the appropriate earth science and petroleum exploration analysis and interpretation software applications.

Environmental Advisor - Darwin

Working for the operator of a multi-billion dollar greenfield LNG development this Darwin based role will help ensure that the project is constructed in accordance with the environmental requirements and commitments contained in the permits, approvals, documents, plans and drawings relevant to the onshore scope of work.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include: 

  • Provide oversight and guidance to Contractor in the day to day environmental compliance program in the field, including compliance with the Contractor's Construction Environmental Management Plan and associated sub-plans.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to Contractor's environmental coordinators, inspectors and/or officers assigned to assist in field compliance activities.
  • Provide advice, technical assistance and environmental support to the Onshore construction and engineering team, including review of environmental management plans for both marine and terrestrial components of construction activities.
  • Provide interface between construction personnel and Contractor on environmental requirements and permitting, principally in relation to stormwater controls; flora and fauna management; dangerous goods storage; waste management; camp construction and operation; site rehabilitation; and environmental monitoring and reporting.
  • Provide environmental support (as required) to the Government Approvals Manager in delivering approvals for additional project related approvals.
  • Provide additional environmental support as directed by the Site HSE Manager.
  • Manage and supervise Environmental Officer(s) on site, as required.
  • Assist in the management of HSE planning and implementation for field based environmental activities.

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience in the construction of large scale Greenfield projects.

Onshore Risk Manager

  • Support the onshore division to identify, analyse and manage risks and opportunities associated with delivering the onshore scope of work.
  • Work across the onshore division to ensure consistency in the application of risk management process and procedures.
  • Act as the single focal point in the onshore division for all risk matters.
  • Ensure onshore division risk management is integrated with the project wide risk management activities.
  • Risks and opportunities associated with delivering the onshore scope of work are clearly identified, fully analysed and managed according to the project's requirements and that the appropriate level of risk management is applied.
  • Corporate and Project process and procedures are applied to risk management activities in the onshore division.
  • Maintain the onshore component of the project risk register including frequency of reviews, outstanding actions and reports to onshore division manage.
  • Liaise with Project Coordination in the overall management of project risk.
  • Liaise with Corporate Coordination to develop risk management standards, training and workshop material.
  • Provide regular reporting on the onshore project risk management progress against targets.
  • Facilitate the application of a consistent methodology and common language for risk and opportunity management.
  • Help embed risk management as a way of thinking in the development of the onshore division.
  • Liaise with onshore division managers to facilitate risk identification, analysis sessions at all levels of the division.
  • Ensure the risk register contains quality information and there is a consistent application of risk ratings (likelihood, impact).
  • Apply appropriate Corporate and project standards to risk assessment and management.
  • Facilitate sessions to define risk controls and mitigation plans.
  • Help ensure appropriate controls are defined.
  • Help  ensure control effectiveness is rated appropriately.
  • Facilitate sessions to review and update risk register.
  • Check against project overarching risk register for consistency and gaps.
  • Assist in the preparation of risk reports and presentations.
  • Seek the inclusion of risk management as an agenda item at all relevant meetings across the onshore division.
  • Facilitate the ongoing use of risk based decision making.
  • Assist package managers to achieve their accountabilities and responsibilities as defined in the Corporate/ project  risk management framework with regard to risk management.
  • Provide input into updating the project risk management framework and procedure to ensure that they remain relevant for the onshore division.
  • Provide input into the procedures, work instructions and guidelines to explain the risk framework and how to use the risk register.
  • Provide training, coaching and assistance to the onshore division with regard to the risk management framework, risk management process and system including reporting.
 

The following Qualifications and Experience are a requirement of this position:

  • Bachelor degree or higher technical qualification and + 10 years oil and gas or related experience.
  • Broad exposure (min 5 years) to project management, interface/risk issues, standards and systems.
  • Experience in managing risk across a department.
  • Ability to get out from behind the desk and "walk the talk" i.e. help build risk management as a key tool in making quality decisions in the onshore division by application of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of relevant Corporate/ project processes and systems.
  • Ability to mentor project teams and facilitate use of the risk management system.
  • Able to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Interpersonal skills befitting a multicultural environment.
  • Strong team player.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
